Metadata Stripping

How we remove identifying information from your files

Every file you upload contains hidden information called metadata that could identify you. Photos from your phone include GPS coordinates, camera model, and timestamps. Documents contain author names, computer usernames, and editing history.

We automatically strip ALL of this data before storing your files.

Images

GPS location, camera model, date/time, thumbnails, lens info, software used

Documents

Author name, company, last modified by, revision history, comments

PDFs

Creator, producer software, creation date, modification history

Audio

Recording device, software, ID3 tags, embedded images

Powered by ExifTool

We use ExifTool by Phil Harvey — the industry-standard tool for reading, writing, and removing metadata from over 400 file formats. It's trusted by security professionals, journalists, and privacy advocates worldwide.

Extra Assurance

For maximum safety, you can also run ExifTool yourself before uploading. Download it from the link above and use the command: exiftool -all= yourfile.jpg

Your Privacy & Safety

What we don't collect and how to stay safe

Your anonymity is our priority. Here's what we deliberately avoid storing:

  • IP Addresses: We never log your IP address, not even in error logs
  • Browser Fingerprints: We don't track your browser, screen size, or plugins
  • User Agents: We don't store what browser or OS you use
  • Tracking Cookies: No analytics, no third-party tracking
  • Account Requirements: No registration, no email, no phone number

Recommended practices for maximum safety:

  • Use Tor Browser: Download from torproject.org for anonymous browsing
  • Public WiFi: Don't submit from your home or work network
  • New Device: If possible, use a device not linked to your identity
  • Redact Carefully: Black out names and faces in images before uploading
  • Watch Your Words: Don't include information in the report text that could identify you

Pro Tip

The safest submission method: Tor Browser + Public WiFi + ExifTool on your files first. This combination makes tracing virtually impossible.
